Job summary

Medtronic Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Program/Project Manager to lead, monitor, and deliver complex programs from feasibility through closure. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, line management, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree, 6+ years of relevant experience with 3+ in management, and certifications like Six Sigma or PMP. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience; 3+ years in managerial roles; medical devices or regulated industries preferred.
• Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt and PMP certification preferred.
• Able to travel for extended periods (domestic and international).
• Strong written and verbal English and Malay communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and monitor all phases of programs/projects from feasibility to closure per SOPs and PMO processes.
• Oversee operational aspects of ongoing projects and liaison between PMO, planning, teams and line management.
• Lead cross-functional operations to ensure on-time and on-budget performance.
• Review project status and budgets; manage schedules and status reporting.
• Manage end-to-end projects including manufacturing setup, line qualification, and tech transfer.
• Assess issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
• Develop monitoring mechanisms for project progress and intervention with managers and clients.

Position Description

• Lead, develop, and monitor all phases of the program/projects from feasibility, planning, execution, and closure aligned to SOPs and PMO business processes.
• Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
• Lead extended cross-functional operations team to ensure on-time and on-budget performance.
• Review status of projects and budgets; manage schedules and prepare status reports.
• Manage projects end-to-end, including manufacturing facility setup, line qualification, and technology product transfer implementation.
• Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Required Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required in technical fields such as Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience with 3+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience including 3+ years in managerial roles, preferably within medical devices or other regulated industries.
• Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt and PMP certification preferred.
• Able to travel for extended period (air and ground, domestic and international).
• Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay to effectively communicate with stakeholders across APAC, Europe, and the United States.
