Job summary

UEM Edgenta Berhad in Kedah is seeking a Boiler Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of the boiler system and related equipment. The role emphasizes maintaining high reliability and complying with safety standards.

You will perform preventive maintenance, support predictive tasks, and keep accurate records for regulatory reporting while coordinating with HSSE and LEAN initiatives. The position requires 4–6 years of experience and a valid DOSH Grade 2 boiler certificate.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of boiler experience and competence as a boilerman.
• DOSH Grade 2 boiler certification.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the boiler and its equipment to ensure boiler is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities and assist predictive maintenance activities to minimise unplanned shutdown.
• Key-in and input all data and records related to boiler maintenance activities are documented and updated accordingly as per operational and regulatory requirements. Ensure data and records related to the schedule waste process are available and updated.
• Plan and prepare for DOSH/DOE regular and ad-hoc inspection of boiler to meet their requirements.
• Arrange and conduct housekeeping of boiler room and equipment to be in safe and good condition according to the work safety act and enable conducive work environment.
• Troubleshoot any breakdown and carry out maintenance and rectification work.
• Ensure all activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health and environment activities (Quality Assurance Program, Risk Management, Hazard Alert and Recall, Handling Hazardous Equipment) as per contract agreement. Support company programmes and activities such as related to HSSE and LEAN e.g. toolbox session at agreed frequency set by management
• Support stakeholder management (external - Contractor Performance Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey, internal – headquarters, vendor etc.) effectively by providing excellent services to maintain good relationship and achieve high customer satisfaction level as per Key Performance Indicator (KPI) set by Company and Ministry of Health.

Job Requirements

• High School Certificate (specialised in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia)
• At least 4 to 6 years of experience and competent boilerman
• Certified Boilerman Grade 2 issued by DOSH.
