• Prepare maintenance schedules, monitor progress and report to H.O.D on maintenance.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize power interruptions and equipment breakdowns.
• Oversee service agreements renewals and licensing for generator sets and electrical installations.
• Coordinate with utility providers and authorities on compliance.
• Maintain inventories and stock levels for fast maintenance response.
• Attend emergency calls and manage 24/7 maintenance support on campus.

Role and Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the inspection, operation and maintenance of the HV transformer, HV switch room, LV switch room, generator sets, mechanical control panel, water pump and all the electrical system to meet the statutory regulations, environment and safety standards
• To lead the electrical team and provide necessary guidance to the team members for improvement
• To register 11KV or 33KV competent chargeman certificate with the Suruhanjaya Tenaga under Xiamen University Malaysia
• Lead and supervise the electrical team and contractors in performing the electricity /mechanical trouble shooting and participate as key team member in responding to emergency situation
• Lead and make a schedule, monitor and report to the H.O.D on the maintenance progress and corrective maintenance after repairs.
• Responsible for preventive maintenance to minimize power interruption and equipment breakdown
• Monitor and update the expiry date.
• Overseeing the renewal of service agreement and renewal of all electrical equipment statutory licensing for generator set, electrical installation, etc.
• Liaise with utility providers such as TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and relevant local authorities on compliance with the regulations at all times
• Oversee the maintenance inventories by keeping track on the stock card and replenishing the stock to ensure a fast responsiveness in maintenance
• Standby and attend for any emergency call in relation to urgent/ critical maintenance matter; • Coordinate and create a maintenance staff duty roaster to ensure 24/7 continuous maintenance support to the campus
• Responsible for student hostel rooms maintenance and handing over
• To support building sector in the student hostel room maintenance and to ensure a timely handing over of student hostel rooms
• To attend to repair/ rectification/ refurbishment works for the buildings in the campus including preparation of work specification and execution of work with quality control
• To improve the crossed maintenance sectors collaboration by supporting each other
• To support in the departmental expansion plan by improving communication with the superior & management
• To perform any other job functions that may be assigned by the HOD to support departmental overall objectives.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Possess the 11KV or 33KV competent person certificate with Suruhanjaya Tenaga registration.
• Possesses sound knowledge in M&E equipment.
• Possess knowledge in technical SOP.
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal) in English & Bahasa Malaysia.
• Able to multi-task, possess strong organizational and time management skills
