Job summary

Genting Malaysia Bhd invites qualified electricians to join the High Tension Team at Genting Highlands. The role focuses on maintenance, fault finding, and refurbishment of 11kV switchgear, transformers and cables, with responsibilities spanning planning, approval, and commissioning activities at the site.

Ideal candidates will hold BO 11kV certification and a national competency in Electrical Chargeman, with experience in switching and 132kV/11kV systems.

Qualifications

• 5 years related working experience is preferable.
• Strong knowledge of 11kV switchgear, transformers and cables.
• Ability to plan and coordinate maintenance and commissioning workflows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 11kV switchgear, cables and transformers per safety standards.
• Plan and execute routine maintenance cycles and respond to breakdowns during duty and standby.
• Coordinate switching, permitting and site commissioning for 11kV/132kV systems.
• Manage electrical supervisors and technicians, including scheduling and appraisals.
• Assist in meter reading and billing for third party consumers.
• Ensure ISO management system compliance across all work processes.

Job description

Accountable for all maintenance of switchgears, cable and transformers as per legal requirement and safe operating condition

Plan and execute routine maintenance cycles

Attend breakdown maintenance for restoration of supply during normal working hours and standby period, inclusive of isolation of faulty section and restoration of power supply

Execute replacement and refurbishment of plant equipment inclusive of procurement activity

Planning and coordinate constructions work for supply, erect and commissioning 11kV switchgears, cables and transformers.

Responsible for handling 11kV electrical equipment including operating, maintaining and troubleshooting switchgear, transformer and other related system.

Related work on electrical expansion Genting Integrated Tourism Plan and third-party electricity supply request, include switching, cable diversion, asset taking over, FAT, dealing with TNB, dealing with Suruhanjaya Tenaga, dealing with consultants, examine schematic drawing of as-built drawing during taking over, etc for 132kV and 11kV system.

Assist Resident Engineer in conducting inspection, switching, maintenance or any electrical work as directed for 132kV and 11kV system such as standardization of procedure, electrical system planning, update drawing, etc

Manage electrical supervisors and technicians under High Tension Team on human resource matters, inclusive of appraisal, scheduling of standby, leave application, KPI, etc

Help handle matters regarding metering and billing of third-party consumers

Help educate A level chargeman on correct ways of switching, troubleshooting and maintenance for 415V system

All work processes are to ensure compliance to Engineering ISO Integrated Management System

Perform switching, issue permit to work and supervise contractor to conduct electrical work until commissioning.

Job requirements:

Preferable with 5 years related working experience.

BO 11kV Certificate is required to be registered under Genting Utilities & Services Sdn Bhd Job Requirement

Possess a Competency Certificate in Electrical Chargeman BO Issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission).

Candidate with switching, operation and maintenance, and attending breakdown of 11kV switchgears and transformers experience are encourage to apply.

Team player and ability to multi task. Possess valid driving license as travel to site is needed.
