Job summary

A prominent procurement company in Penang is seeking a Japanese-speaking Purchasing Executive to support daily procurement activities. You will assist in sourcing, vendor coordination, and maintaining supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company policies. Qualifications

• Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Proficiency in Japanese (spoken, read and written) is mandatory; JLPT N2 or above is preferred.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship or working experience is a plus.
• Basic understanding of procurement or purchasing processes is an advantage.
• Good communication, organizational, and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support daily procurement activities, including sourcing and vendor coordination.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
• Work closely with internal teams to understand material and service requirements.
• Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure smooth communication.
• Monitor delivery schedules and follow up with suppliers.
• Prepare and review purchase orders for accuracy.
• Communicate with headquarters in Japan and Japanese suppliers.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies.
• Assist in preparing basic reports related to procurement activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
