Job summary

Astep Coffee in JB Town is hiring a full-time barista to prepare espresso-based beverages, maintain café equipment, and deliver friendly customer service. You will handle orders, POS duties, and ensure cleanliness while assisting with opening/closing, stock checks, and daily operations.

Experience is preferred but training is available; strong communication and teamwork are expected, along with reliability and a passion for coffee.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience preferred, but training can be provided.
• Basic knowledge of espresso preparation and milk steaming.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Responsible, punctual, and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Passionate about coffee and café service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based beverages, filter coffee, and other café drinks according to SOP.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment.
• Perform basic latte art and milk steaming.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.
• Take customer orders, handle POS/cashier duties, and process payments.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar and café area.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor coffee beans, milk, and other beverage supplies.
• Follow coffee recipes, quality standards, and workplace SOPs.
• Assist with basic stock checking and inventory.
• Support daily café operations and other duties assigned by management.
