Job summary

Koperasi Pekerja-Pekerja Shell Malaysia Berhad seeks a Barista Crew to prepare and serve coffee, beverages, and food, while upholding quality and hygiene standards. You will handle customer orders, assist with cash transactions, and maintain a welcoming outlet environment.

You should have café or customer service experience, strong communication, and be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays. Training may be provided for barista tasks and certifications as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in café, restaurant, food & beverage, retail, or customer service is an advantage.
• Barista experience is an added advantage; training will be provided where required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Responsible, punctual, reliable, and willing to learn.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required.
• Possess a valid Food Handler Training Certificate and Typhoid Vaccination where applicable, or be willing to obtain the required certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, beverages, food, and other menu items according to established recipes, procedures, and quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in product quality, portioning, presentation, and service.
• Operate coffee machines, kitchen equipment, and other relevant outlet equipment safely and correctly.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient service to all customers.
• Take customer orders accurately and ensure orders are prepared and served promptly.
• Attend to customer enquiries, requests, and feedback professionally.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the outlet.
• Handle cashiering duties and process cashless and cash transactions accurately.
• Issue receipts and ensure proper recording of all sales transactions.
• Follow established procedures for cash handling and daily sales reconciliation.
• Support promotional activities and initiatives to increase sales and customer engagement.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, housekeeping, personal hygiene, and grooming at all times.
• Ensure workstations, equipment, utensils, dining areas, counters, storage areas, and other facilities are clean and well maintained.
• Ensure the outlet maintains a professional and presentable appearance throughout operating hours.
• Assist with receiving, checking, storing, and organising food, beverages, packaging materials, and other supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged items, or expired products to the Outlet Manager.
• Follow proper stock rotation and storage procedures to minimise wastage and spoilage.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) requirements and food safety standards.
• Follow all Company policies, standard operating procedures, hygiene requirements, and applicable statutory regulations.
• Immediately report any safety, security, food safety, equipment, or operational concerns to the Outlet Manager.
• Assist the Outlet Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient daily outlet operations.
• Support the achievement of sales targets and operational objectives.
• Assist in controlling wastage and operational costs.
• Contribute ideas and participate in initiatives to improve outlet performance, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
