Job summary

Sabahebat Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Backhoe Driver/Operator to join our estate operations team in Membakut, Sabah. You will operate a backhoe loader for excavation, drainage maintenance, road works, land preparation and other earth-moving tasks within the estate.

The ideal candidate has prior backhoe or similar heavy machinery experience, a valid Malaysian driving licence, and relevant CIDB certification.

Qualifications

• Backhoe loader operation experience preferred.
• CIDB SKKP BHL2 or equivalent certification where applicable.
• Valid Malaysian driving licence for duties on public roads.
• CIDB Construction Personnel Registration / Green Card advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of machinery inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Able to identify and report basic mechanical or hydraulic issues.
• Familiarity with plantation, agricultural, construction or earthwork operations is an advantage.
• Physically fit, able to work outdoors, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoe loader safely and efficiently for excavation and earth-moving works.
• Carry out drainage construction and maintenance within the estate.
• Perform estate road repair, maintenance and site preparation works.
• Load, move and relocate soil, gravel, debris and other materials as required.
• Assist with land clearing and other machinery-related estate works.
• Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the backhoe.
• Monitor the condition of the machinery and report any defects, damage or mechanical problems immediately.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper care of the machine.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and instructions from the Estate Manager or Supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.

Carry out drainage construction and maintenance within the estate.

Perform estate road repair, maintenance and site preparation works.

Load, move and relocate soil, gravel, debris and other materials as required.

Assist with land clearing and other machinery-related estate works.

Conduct daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of the backhoe.

Monitor the condition of the machinery and report any defects, damage or mechanical problems immediately.

About you

Previous experience operating a backhoe loader, excavator or similar heavy machinery is highly preferred.

Possess relevant Backhoe Loader Operation competency certification, such as CIDB SKKP BHL2 or equivalent, where applicable.

Valid Malaysian driving licence where driving duties or public-road operation are required.

CIDB Construction Personnel Registration / Green Card will be an added advantage where applicable to construction-related work.

Basic knowledge of machinery inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting.
