Job summary

Ideal Systems in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer (AV) to drive delivery of professional Audio Visual and Integrated Systems projects across Malaysia and the region.

You will be involved in the full project lifecycle, including engineering, installation coordination, testing, commissioning, documentation, and client support. This role calls for a strong AV technical background, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or with a project team.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Audio Visual Technology, Electronics, IT, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in AV systems integration or related industry.
• Experience with professional AV systems and technologies.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLAN, PoE).
• Familiarity with brands such as Crestron, QSC, Extron, Biamp, Shure, Barco, or LED systems is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is preferred.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Able and willing to support critical project activities, maintenance windows, and system migrations during weekends or nighttime hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and delivery of AV, broadcast, and integrated technology projects.
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, rack layouts, and system documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams during project execution.
• Supervise onsite installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Configure and troubleshoot AV systems including control systems, LED displays, and network-based AV solutions.
• Conduct system testing and ensure project quality standards are met.
• Assist in preparing method statements, as-built documentation, and operation manuals.
• Support project managers in tracking schedules, technical issues, and site coordination.
• Attend site meetings and provide technical updates as required.
• Provide post-installation support and troubleshooting.
