techstreet is seeking a hands-on Robotics Engineer to develop and deploy ROS1/ROS2 software for autonomous platforms. You will work on localization, mapping, perception, and control for indoor/outdoor operation, and evaluate SLAM and AI-driven driving methods in real environments.
You will calibrate sensors, deploy systems at test sites, and conduct field tests, data collection, and bug fixes on physical robots, collaborating with engineering and field ops teams.
This is a hands‑on role spanning ROS software, SLAM, AI‑based autonomy, sensors, system integration, and field testing. You should be comfortable working on physical robots, investigating unexpected behaviour, and communicating technical findings clearly.
Develop, integrate, and maintain robotics software using ROS1 and ROS2 for autonomous mobile robots and driving platforms.
Build and improve localization, mapping, perception, planning, and control for indoor and outdoor operation.
Develop, integrate, and evaluate SLAM and AI‑based autonomous driving methods in real operating environments.
Integrate and calibrate LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, IMUs, encoders, and other sensors.
Deploy robots and autonomous driving systems at test and customer sites against safety, reliability, and performance requirements.
Plan and conduct field tests; collect data, analyse logs, reproduce failures, and validate fixes on physical robots.
Diagnose software, networking, compute, sensor, electrical, and mechanical integration problems.
Write maintainable Python and C++ code, launch configurations, tests, documentation, and deployment procedures.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and field operations teams during development, demonstrations, and commercial deployments.
Take ownership of technical work from investigation through implementation, field validation, and documentation.
A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
At least one year of relevant experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, mobile robots, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience beyond simulation, including integration, deployment, testing, or troubleshooting on physical robots or autonomous vehicles.
Practical ROS1 and/or ROS2 experience, including packages, topics, services, actions, launch systems, TF, bags, and debugging tools.
Ability to program in Python and/or C++ on Linux or Ubuntu.
Working knowledge of SLAM, localization, navigation, path planning, perception, sensor fusion, or autonomous control.
Legal eligibility to work in Malaysia and professional English communication.
