Job summary

Wheelcorp Auto Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, perform maintenance, and repair components across ICE and EV vehicles. The role requires strong diagnostic skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

The technician will document work accurately, stay updated on technologies, and collaborate with the team to complete complex repairs efficiently. A certification or equivalent qualification is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ICE and EV vehicle systems or willingness to develop EV expertise.
• Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and repair tools.
• Strong understanding of electrical, engine, and suspension systems.
• Valid automotive technician certification or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose vehicle mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, fluid top-ups.
• Repair/replace defective components including engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical systems.

Diagnose vehicle mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge

Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and fluid top-ups

Repair and replace defective vehicle components including engines, transmissions, suspension systems, and electrical systems

Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections and provide detailed repair recommendations to customers

Work on both conventional ICE vehicles and modern electric vehicles with proficiency in EV-specific systems and battery management

Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed

Ensure workplace safety standards and maintain a clean, organised work environment

Collaborate with team members to complete complex repair tasks efficiently

Stay updated with latest automotive technologies and repair procedures

What we're looking for

Proven experience as an Automotive Technician with a minimum of 3-5 years in vehicle repair and maintenance

Comprehensive knowledge of both ICE and EV vehicle systems, or demonstrated willingness to develop EV expertise

Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and vehicle repair tools

Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, engine mechanics, and suspension systems

Valid automotive technician certification or equivalent technical qualification

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Strong communication abilities to explain technical issues to customers

Physical capability to perform demanding manual work and lift heavy components

Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to workplace safety

Experience with EV technology or relevant EV training is highly desirable
