Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Malaysia is seeking an automation engineering specialist to conceptualize, design, and develop automated machine hardware systems. You will lead the build, commissioning, troubleshooting and release to production of automated equipment, while preparing detailed design documentation and BOMs for mechanical and basic electrical components.

The role requires hands-on experience with 3D modeling (SolidWorks or equivalent) and strong collaboration with multiple internal groups

Qualifications

• At least a Diploma, Degree or Master in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, with 2 years in designing automated equipment.
• Hands-on experience in full manufacturing automation concepts using 3D SolidWorks or similar software.
• Detail oriented and able to collaborate with multiple groups and customers.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop automated machine hardware systems.
• Build, commission, troubleshoot and release automation equipment to production.
• Generate design documentation and mechanical/electrical BOMs including I/Os, controllers, drivers, pneumatics and sensors.
• Provide cost estimation, ROI analysis and manage project lead times.
• Support continuous improvement on automation projects to meet yield, quality and customer requirements.
