Job summary

Flex is seeking an Automation Engineer in Malaysia to specify, design, and maintain automation equipment and applications. You will support uptime, develop manuals, and collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering with about 6 years of automation experience, including mechatronics design and PLC programming, and exposure to automated camera systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or similar field.
• Typically requires at least 6 years of experience in automation engineering in high technology electronics or related area.
• Mechatronics design experience including Robot/Cobot implementations.
• Automated control experience including PLC programming.
• Experience developing devices with automatic camera recognition.
• Circuit design skills for equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and modify automation equipment, tooling and applications to automate manufacturing processes.
• Establish technical manuals, drawings, models, training documentation, and maintenance plans for automated equipment.
• Maintain machine uptime through preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Coordinate maintenance with engineering and operations to ensure efficient operation.
• Contribute to planning, building, and maintaining the Automation framework for new products.
• Identify and drive changes to improve automation effectiveness.
• Provide feedback to improve process and equipment design.
