Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in database administration with a focus on automation.
• Foundational knowledge of DBMS such as MariaDB, MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift, Cassandra, Redis.
• Strong knowledge of database security and access control.
• Familiarity with backup/recovery procedures, DR concepts, and high availability.
• Experience with database monitoring tools (New Relic, AWS CloudWatch).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify bottlenecks and automate.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain DBMS and related software with emphasis on automating routine deployment tasks.
• Monitor and optimize database performance; transition to automated alerting and reporting.
• Automate backup and recovery plans; ensure automated testing for DR scenarios.
• Manage database security and access control with automated protocols.
• Troubleshoot and fix connectivity or data integrity issues via scripts.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive DB documentation and data models for AI integration.
• Automate auditing and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with IT staff to replace legacy workflows with automated solutions.
• Perform database tuning using automated scripts for consistent performance.
• Develop automated maintenance procedures, including scheduled data purging and defragmentation.
• Plan upgrades and migrations with reduced manual downtime via automation scripts.
• Other duties as assigned.
