Job summary
ABB Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Penang seeks an engineer to act as design authority for automation disciplines, handling small projects and applying design thinking. You'll support customers in Malaysia and across SEA, Australia, and NZ.
The role offers hybrid/onsite work with travel as required, contributing to machine automation within ABB's Automation division in Malaysia.
You will develop proposals, documentation, and maintain clear communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation or related).
- 3–5 years of application development and support experience.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation systems including PLCs, motors, drives, and robotics.
Responsibilities
- Act as design authority for an engineering discipline with low to moderate complexity.
- Complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects cost-effectively.
- Apply design thinking and best practices in projects.
- Support customers in Malaysia and SEA, plus Australia and NZ as needed.
- Prepare engineering proposals and maintain stakeholder communications throughout projects.
