Job summary

Aemulus Corporation Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to develop high-speed digital, analog and mixed-signal boards for ATE applications. You will craft schematics, select components, and ensure layouts meet stringent electrical, thermal and manufacturing requirements.

You will collaborate with Applications Engineers and customers to validate test coverage, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to root cause analyses for board issues, while driving robust documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
• 2-5 years of hardware design, ATE, semiconductor testing, or related industries
• Strong understanding of high-speed digital, analog and mixed-signal circuit design, and power distribution design
• Familiarity with SI/PI analysis tools such as HyperLynx, ADS, LTSpice
• Knowledge of high current test structures, Kelvin measurements, thermal management, and pogo/probe interfaces
• Experience with semiconductor ATE platforms is a plus
• Proficiency with schematic and PCB design tools: Mentor PADS, Altium, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD
• Basic scripting (Python, C#) for automation and HW characterization
• Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage for business in China
• Strong attention to detail, communication and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight schedules
• Independent hands-on debugging capability

Responsibilities

• Develop architecture and design of complex modules such as SMU, DPS, mixed-signals and high-speed digital boards for ATE applications
• Create schematics and ensure PCB layouts meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing requirements
• Select components including drivers, power devices, relays, connectors, and high-speed signal devices
• Familiar with stack-up design, controlled impedance routing, length matching, and high-speed layout
• Analyze high-speed digital, analog, and mixed-signal paths to ensure optimal signal integrity
• Conduct SI/PI simulation and analysis (crosstalk, EMI/EMC, noise)
• Optimize routings and grounding to improve board performance
• Collaborate with Applications Engineers and customers to meet test coverage on Aemulus ATE platforms
• Mentor junior Hardware Design Engineers through reviews and training
• Manage production docs: Schematic BOM creation and Functional Test requirements
• Prepare assembly instructions for design deviations or board mismatches
• Support root cause analysis for board failures and bring-up challenges
