Job summary

FCC Consulting Engineer Sdn Bhd in Desa Petaling (Kuala Lumpur) is hiring an Assistant Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. You will support the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical projects while collaborating with experienced engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/SolidWorks), and a strong foundation in thermodynamics and mechanics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience or recent graduate.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design, thermodynamics, and mechanics.
• Knowledge of applicable engineering standards and codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation.
• Willingness to learn under guidance of senior engineers.
• Preferred: HVAC, piping design, or industrial machinery experience.
• Preferred: PE certification or undergraduate membership in a recognised engineering body.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting in the design and development of mechanical systems and components using CAD software and engineering principles
• Preparing detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical projects
• Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and project documentation
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations throughout project delivery

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
• Recent graduate or with 1-3 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, design, or related field
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, thermodynamics, and engineering mechanics
• Knowledge of engineering standards and codes applicable to mechanical systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical documentation preparation
