Job summary

Great Eastern Life Malaysia is seeking an Associate, Finance (Management Reports) to support Asset-Liability Management optimisation, liquidity and capital management, and regulatory reporting. You will collaborate with Actuarial, Investment and Finance teams to deliver insights and drive efficiency.

Fresh graduates or 1 year of experience are welcome. Strong analytical skills, good communication and Tableau familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Actuarial Science.
• Passed actuarial exams with recognised actuarial bodies.
• Fresh graduate or 1 year of working experience.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with Tableau is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist ALM optimisation in liquidity, earnings volatility, and capital management.
• Coordinate annual SAA/TAA optimisation with cross-functional teams.
• Assist regulatory capital management optimisation via ALM.
• Identify and support inforce opportunities and business cases.
• Analyse capital efficiency by line of business (RORC).
• Prepare analysis for SMT and ALCO meetings.
• Provide in-depth claim analysis and suggest improvements.
• Conduct market intelligence to support strategy execution.
• Monitor regulatory trends and risk management practices.
• Highlight risks and share best practices.

The Role:

• Assist in formulating the Asset Liability Matching (ALM) Optimisation in the perspectives of liquidity, earnings volatility reinsurance, capital and free surplus management.
• Coordinate the annual exercise on the optimization of Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation (SAA/TAA) with the support from Actuarial, Investment and Finance Department.
• Assist in formulating the regulatory capital management optimization via the ALM
• Identify and initiate and support the inforce initiatives and business cases for business opportunities optimization.
• Analyse and monitor the capital efficiency through Return on Regulatory Capital measure by line of business.
• Prepare the relevant analysis and monitoring where required in SMT and ALCO.
• Provide in-depth claim analysis and propose ideas to improve the experience.
• Conduct market intelligence analysis to aid in formulating strategies and executing the effective plans.
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlight any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practice.
• Other responsibilities entailed

The Person:

• Possessed a Tertiary - Bach. In Actuarial Science
• Passed early stage actuarial exams in Faculty of Actuaries, Scotland / Institute of Actuaries, England / Institute of Actuaries, Australia / Society of Actuaries, US
• Fresh graduate or 1 year of working experience
• Good communication skills - written and verbal.
• Very strong analytical reasoning and data orientation
• Knowledge in Tableau is a plus
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
