Job summary

GMRecruitment Sdn Bhd is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, mission-critical data centre projects in Malaysia. You will drive planning, execution, and handover, coordinating clients, engineers, subcontractors, and authorities while ensuring time, budget, safety, and quality targets.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related engineering discipline and 15-20+ years of PM experience in data centres, with strong leadership and bilingual English-Chinese communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical/Electrical or related engineering.
• 15–20+ years project management experience in mission-critical facilities.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (read and write).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple construction projects from inception to handover.
• Provide leadership to project teams and coordinate across departments, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with clients, contractors, supply chain, and authorities.
• Own EHS compliance (Bridge EHS process/policy) and maintain ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.
• Manage budgets, manpower, and materials to meet project goals.
• Support site due diligence, land acquisition, and RFPs; maintain full project documentation.

You'll be accountable for executing projects on time, on budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards - providing strategic leadership, managing local project teams, and coordinating with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and closeout of multiple construction projects from inception to handover.
• Provide leadership to project teams and coordinate across departments, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and resolve issues throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as the primary point of contact with clients, contractors, supply chain, and authorities.
• Own EHS compliance (Bridge EHS process/policy) and maintain ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 standards.
• Manage budgets, manpower, and materials to meet project goals.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of data centre construction, including CSA and MEP applications.
• Full construction lifecycle experience - mobilization through testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese (read and write).
