Job summary

Air Selangor is seeking an engineer to process Development Order and planning submissions for Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya, ensuring alignment with SPAN UTG guidelines.

The role emphasizes reviewing submissions, determining tapping points, evaluating hydraulic design, and preparing technical notes for committee review in Local Authority meetings. 1–3 years in water systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in water supply systems.
• Sound knowledge in hydraulics and fluid mechanics.
• Knowledge in design of water supply systems based on SPAN UTG.
• Familiarity with approved materials/products for water supply systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review Development Order submissions from OSC and Planners.
• Assess location and pressure at tapping points for developments.
• Prepare technical comments for external water supply system designs.
• Calculate capital contributions and prepare JKP papers for verification.
• Attend meetings with Local Authority, SPAN, and Consultants/Developers.
• Support Management with discussions on submitted water supply designs.

JOB SUMMARY

To process Development Order / Planning Approval, Tapping Point and Water Supply System submissions based on Local Authority and SPAN’s technical requirements for new developments in Selangor, WP Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main roles and responsibilities

• To review and check Development Order submission from the OSC and Planners.
• To receive, process and respond on location and pressure at tapping points for various Developments from Consultants/Developer.
• To check technical drawings and prepare technical comments for new external water supply system design in accordance to SPAN Uniform Technical Guidelines.
• To calculate and prepare valuation on capital contributions before submitting to Head of Section for verification.
• To study and locate sustainable tapping point including water pressure for design purposes before tabling to JKP meeting for consideration/approval.
• To prepare JKP papers on new external water supply design before tabling in the JKP Meeting.
• To present JKP papers in the JKP meeting.
• Preparation of working paper(s) as and when required by the Management.
• Attending and representing Air Selangor in the Local Authority and Government Agencies meetings and other internal meetings as required by the Management.
• To assist Unit Head in conducting discussions with Consultants / Developers in relation to their submitted proposed water supply design during Consultancy Day or as when required.
• To do other duties as and when required by the Management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Recognised Honors Bachelor Degree in Engineering preferably in Civil or related field.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in water supply system.
• Experience in designing water supply system is an advantage.

• Knowledge in design of water supply system based on SPAN UTG.
