Job summary

Air Selangor seeks a senior technical leader to support development, enhancement, and reliability of the Digital Twin platform. You will expertly handle SCADA data integration, OT-IT systems, modelling workflows, and digital operations, while mentoring junior staff and guiding digital transformation initiatives.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and external vendors, drive project scopes, and ensure data accuracy, system performance, and compliant handovers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering or technical field.
• Advanced understanding of SCADA data integration and OT-IT systems.
• Experience in digital twin projects within water or similar industries.

Responsibilities

Job description

This role plays a senior technical role supporting the development, enhancement, and operational reliability of Air Selangor’s Digital Twin platform. This position requires advanced understanding of SCADA data integration, OT‑IT systems, modelling workflows, and digital operations. The role involves leading complex technical tasks, supporting project planning and implementation, ensuring data accuracy and system performance, and acting as a subject matter resource for junior staff. The Associate I will mentor Associates and Executives, review their technical work, and provide guidance in troubleshooting and documentation while contributing significantly to the organization's digital transformation initiatives.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Report to the Head of Digital Twin Technology Unit on a daily basis or as required.
• Act as senior technical support within the Digital Twin Technology Unit, addressing advanced system, data, and modelling issues.
• Review technical outputs from junior staff including data processing, documentation, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Lead problem-solving and root-cause analysis for complex integration, SCADA data, tag-mapping, or model‑accuracy issues.
• Assist in developing project scopes, technical specifications, BQ, drawings, and evaluations for Digital Twin projects and upgrades.
• Support the planning and monitoring of CAPEX and OPEX related to Digital Twin initiatives.
• Handle coordination with internal stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, IT) and external vendors for system updates, commissioning, and integration tasks.
• Participate in PRC, TEC, MPC documentation preparation and provide technical input to project teams.
• Handling all Digital Twin related events to ensure accurate and effective delivery of information.
• Lead advanced tasks for system setup, testing, optimization, model updates, and performance checks.
• Manage data extraction, validation, transformation, and integration from SCADA and other OT systems.
• Identify system enhancement areas and propose improvements in dashboards, modelling workflows, interfaces, and analytics.
• Maintain documentation such as system change logs, troubleshooting guides, and technical SOPs
• Support and technically oversee T&C activities for Digital Twin related infrastructure and integration works.
• Validate system performance, confirm data accuracy, and ensure compliance with design requirements before handover.
• Serve as an advanced point of contact for user enquiries, addressing moderate-to-complex issues.
• Stay updated on digital technologies, industrial automation trends, and data analytics practices.
• Promote a proactive, curiosity-driven culture within the Unit and guide junior staff on professional growth.
• Perform any additional tasks as instructed by the Head of Section from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in: Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Instrumentation & Control / Mechatronics / Computer Science / IT Data Science / Data Engineering / or any related engineering or technical field.

Experience

• Minimum 8 – 10 years’ working experience in water industry especially in electrical, mechanical and treatment process field.

Knowledge

• Posses understanding of SCADA integration
• OT- IT knowledge, modelling in water industries, and digital operations.
• Support in project planning and management.
• Capex and Opex for Digital Twin. Digital twin in water industries or oil and gas.
