Job summary

Coherent Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Associate Engineer to ensure high equipment uptime for Front of Line machines and fixtures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting in Kuala Lumpur.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, configuration, and collaboration with automation and process engineering teams to support new equipment releases and yield improvements. The ideal candidate holds a relevant engineering degree, has experience with testers and equipment troubleshooting, and can adapt

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechatronic/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience with testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debugging or verification.
• Experience in high mix, high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge.
• Analytical mindset with hands-on attitude.
• Adaptable to rapid changes in business needs.
• Knowledge of mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing; poka-yoke an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall equipment uptime of Front of Line machines and fixtures.
• Willing to work overtime to support operation or manpower shortages.
• Responsible for spare parts tracking, replenishment, updates.
• Work closely with in-house automation team on new equipment release for buy off and installation.
• Work with process engineering on yield improvement related to machine and fixtures performance.
• Responsible for overall equipment uptime and safety.
• Maintain maintenance records per ISO requirements.
• Achieve KPI set by the section manager.
• Pass down unfinished tasks to incoming shift to avoid duplication of effort.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall equipment uptime in Front of Line machines & fixtures
• Willing to work overtime when there is need to support operation or short of manpower
• Responsible for spare parts tracking, replenishment, update
• Work closely with in-house automation team on new equipment release for buy off, installation
• Work closely with process engineering team on yield improvement related to machine & fixtures performance related.
• Responsible for overall equipment up time
• Responsible to emphasize safety first attitude in ensuring zero accident occur
• Responsible to keep maintenance records per ISO requirement
• Responsible to achieve KPI being set by section manager
• Always pass down unfinished tasks to incoming shift to avoid duplication effort

Requirements

• Degree of Mechatronic, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in testers or equipment configuring and troubleshooting.
• Experience in tester debug or verification.
• Experienced working in high mix and high-volume manufacturing environment
• Good computer literacy and basic SPC knowledge
• Must exhibit a strong sense of analytical skills with hands on working attitude.
• Adaptable and flexible to rapid changes to the business needs of the company.
• Good knowledge of mechanical dimensioning & tolerancing analysis, poka-yoke principles will be an added advantage
