Job summary

Aon Malaysia is seeking an Associate Director, Catastrophe Management to join the Reinsurance Solutions Malaysia analytics team in Kuala Lumpur. You will work with Singapore and APAC counterparts on catastrophe modelling, data auditing, and client engagements across Asia.

The role reports into the local analytics team and CAT Management in Singapore. Requirements include a science degree and 3+ years in (re)insurance analytics, with strong experience in Verisk, Moody’s, CoreLogic, and SQL.

Qualifications

• Graduated in a science field such as earth science, physics, mathematics or related fields such as actuarial, finance or statistical studies
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in (re)insurance working in an analytical role focusing on catastrophe modelling/management
• Strong experience in Verisk, Moody’s and CoreLogic catastrophe modelling platforms, operating and interpretation
• Strong computer skills in MS Office suites (Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Experience in using Microsoft SQL preferred
• Experience in programming or scripting preferred
• GIS experience (ACRMAP) preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the corporation and various business units

Responsibilities

• Data auditing, formatting and compilation of insurance risk portfolios for catastrophe management using MS Access, Excel, SQL
• Catastrophe modelling analysis using internal and externally licensed catastrophe models
• Interpretation and evaluation of catastrophe model results
• Communicate catastrophe modelling results for reinsurance design, pricing and placement
• Serve as local territory contact, liaising with clients to define objectives and manage projects
• Build relationships with client staff to identify information gaps and improve analyses
• Conduct presentations and training sessions on Aon analytics tools
• Support the View of Risk for Malaysia using the Impact Forecasting model
• Coordinate with Singapore Analytics and APAC team for local research and development of View of Risk
