Job summary

Aon in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is seeking a Data Analyst to join a team focused on risk modelling and data-driven insights. You will gather and interpret insurance data, perform data mapping and transformations, and support end-to-end analytical workflows for clients.

You will use Excel and analytical tools, with Python preferred, to build models, present findings, and contribute to automation. Strong communication is essential to explain complex results to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with MS Office and analytical tools; Python preferred.
• Experience in data modelling for analytical/reporting systems, with a strong interest in data visualization.
• Ability to cleanse, coordinate, and analyze data, and present information clearly to clients.
• Understanding of financial investment, risk, profit, and interpretation of financial ratios.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance policies/markets and accounting is advantageous.
• Understanding of performance guidelines for data and visualization projects.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities to explain complex model findings to non-technical audiences.

• Proficiency in MS Office suites (Excel, Word, PPT, Access) and experience with analytical tools. Python experience preferred; additional programming skills are a plus.
• Experience in data modelling for analytical/reporting systems, with a strong interest in data visualization.
• Ability to use complex computer programs to coordinate, cleanse, and analyze data, and to present information clearly to clients.
• Understanding of financial investment, the influence of risk on investing and profitability, and the capability to interpret financial ratios and company accounts.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance policies/markets and accounting is highly advantageous.
• Understanding of performance guidelines for data and visualization projects.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities, capable of explaining complex model findings to a non-technical audience.
