Job summary

Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated in Kuala Lumpur seeks a valuation professional to produce actuarial projections, support data assumptions, and strengthen Valuation processes across global teams.

Under limited supervision, you will collaborate with Valuation, IT, and Global Support to implement strategies, ensure data integrity, and drive end-to-end integration of reporting and analytics in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field.
• 1+ Years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance or IT-related experience preferred.
• Advanced PC/technical skills with databases (Access/Oracle/SQL) and actuarial software.
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills and collaboration across teams.
• Experience with Alteryx and Power BI is a plus.

• Develops unbiased projections for financial planning and analysis and explains major drivers of variance.
• Serves as liaison with global valuation, pricing, administration, systems architecture, support, audit, and IT.
• Works with Valuation associates globally to adopt enhanced business processes and system capabilities.
• Develops understanding of valuation data, processes, and end-to-end integration.
• Engages IT to meet business requirements and implement technical solutions.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance and performs other duties as required.

A Brief Overview

Under limited supervision, work with Valuation staff (locally and with local international offices) in the Production and Process Improvement role, produce actuarial projections, and provide business data, assumptions, and modeling support. Collaborate cross-functionally (e.g. Valuation, Global Support, and IT) to implement strategies and standards, and to enable advancement and integration of RGA processes and systems. Ensure data and processes integrity within the Valuation platform and with areas outside Valuation to maximize platform efficiency and minimize the disruptions to the actuarial reporting process.

What You Will Do

• Develops unbiased projections for financial planning and analysis and assists with communication of financial analytics and results in terms of major drivers of variance.
• Serves as a liaison with global valuation, pricing, administration, systems architecture, support, audit, and IT departments.
• Work with Valuation associates globally to support the adoption of enhanced business processes and system capabilities.
• Develop advanced understanding of RGA's Valuation processes, data, and systems within and outside Valuation and ensure the end-to-end integration.
• Engage IT resources to ensure business requirements are met and implement the proper technical solutions aligned with the business strategies.
• Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Math, Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics or related field.
• 1+ Years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance or IT-related experience preferred.
• Advanced PC and technical skills, including database applications (Access, Oracle, SQL or equivalent technology), spreadsheets, statistical programs and actuarial software (Prophet, MoSes, TAS, AXIS, or equivalent).
• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to collaborate and liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines, and work well with all levels of management.
• Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into implementable specifications and support the implementation of technical and business solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with users in different time zones and regional offices.
• Ability to compile, analyze, refine, and interpret large amounts of financial data/results and model projections.
• Complex investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Competent knowledge and understanding of actuarial and accounting concepts.
• Ability to well within a team environment and participate in department projects.
• Working knowledge of Alteryx and PowerBI.
