Job summary

Green Borneast Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring safety and quality at site.

The role involves reviewing drawings, coordinating with contractors and consultants, preparing reports and attending MOMs, while promoting QA/QC and OSH compliance on project sites across Sabah.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of site construction or supervision experience.
• Knowledge of drawings, QA/QC procedures.
• Proficient with MS Office; AutoCAD is an advantage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising daily site construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure works follow the project schedule.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and authorities.
• Assist in reviewing construction drawings, specifications and project documents.
• Monitor site safety and OSH compliance.
• Prepare daily site reports, progress reports and inspection records.
• Attend site meetings and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
• Identify and report technical issues, defects and delays.
• Assist in coordinating QA/QC inspections and project documentation.

Assistant Resident Engineer to assist the Resident Engineer in supervising construction activities, monitoring project progress, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and ensuring that construction works meet the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising daily site construction activities

Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards

Monitor construction progress and ensure works follow the approved project schedule

Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, consultants and relevant authorities

Assist in reviewing construction drawings, technical specifications and project documents

Monitor site safety and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements

Prepare daily site reports, progress reports, inspection records and site photographs

Attend site meetings and assist in preparing Minutes of Meeting (MOM)

Identify and report technical issues, construction defects and project delays

Assist in coordinating QA/QC inspections, testing and project documentation

Requirements

Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field

Preferably 1–3 years of working experience in construction or site supervision

Knowledge of construction drawings, site supervision and QA/QC procedures

Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD knowledge is an advantage

Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Willing to work at project sites and travel when required

Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
