Berjaya Corporation Berhad in Johor Bahru seeks an Assistant Production Director to oversee daily manufacturing operations, drive efficiency, and ensure quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets are met in an automotive environment.

You will lead production supervisors and teams, implement Lean and Kaizen, monitor KPIs, coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Logistics and Maintenance, and ensure IATF 16949 and ISO standards compliance across plants.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in production or manufacturing management, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and manufacturing operations.
• Proven experience managing large production teams.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to drive operational performance and continuous improvement.
• Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and managing daily production activities to meet targets and delivery schedules.
• Ensure production performance meets quality, cost, delivery, and productivity objectives.
• Lead, develop, and manage production supervisors and production teams.
• Monitor production KPIs and drive corrective and improvement actions.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Optimise production processes, manpower, equipment, and resources.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Logistics, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
