Job summary

SEMENANJUNG CONCRETE MANUFACTURING SDN. BHD. is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional to join our Beranang, Selangor team. This full-time role focuses on maintaining top HSE standards across operations on-site.

You will develop policies, perform risk assessments, lead audits, investigate incidents, and deliver training while ensuring regulatory compliance and continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably within the manufacturing sectors.
• Green Book (Registered Safety & Health Officer) certification is required.
• Familiarity with Malaysian occupational safety legislation, environmental regulations, risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, contractor safety management and industry standards applicable to concrete manufacturing.
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, incident investigations, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate HSE messages to all levels of the organisation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HSE management software systems.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational, management, and external stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement in HSE performance.
• Physical capability to conduct regular site inspections and audits in potentially challenging operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures that comply with Malaysian legislation and industry standards.
• Conducting regular workplace risk assessments and hazard evaluations to identify potential dangers and recommend appropriate control measures.
• Carrying out routine safety audits and inspections across all operational areas to ensure compliance with HSE standards and identifying areas for improvement.
• Investigating workplace incidents and accidents, documenting findings, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
• Providing health and safety training and induction programmes to employees and contractors, ensuring they understand HSE requirements and best practices.
• Managing occupational health programmes, including health monitoring, medical surveillance, and wellness initiatives for employees.
• Overseeing environmental compliance matters, including waste management, emissions monitoring, and pollution prevention strategies.
• Maintaining detailed HSE records, statistics, and documentation required for regulatory reporting and internal analysis.
• Liaising with external regulatory bodies, authorities, and third-party auditors to ensure ongoing compliance and address any regulatory concerns.
• Promoting a strong safety culture throughout the organisation through communication, engagement, and leadership by example.
• Investigating and managing contractor and visitor safety protocols to ensure all third parties adhere to our HSE standards.

About the role

SEMENANJUNG CONCRETE MANUFACTURING SDN. BHD. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) professional to join our team in Beranang, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring our operations maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. The HSE professional will be instrumental in protecting our workforce, safeguarding our environment, and upholding regulatory requirements across all business activities. This role is based on-site at our Beranang facility, where you will work closely with operational teams to implement and maintain our HSE policies and procedures.

What you'll be doing
