Job summary

MR D.I.Y. is looking for a finance professional in Selangor to lead budgeting, forecasting, and project cost control. You will monitor budgets, analyze overruns, and track ROI while ensuring governance and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include ROI analysis, post-implementation reviews, and providing management with financial insights to support strategic investments. Strong Excel and Power BI skills are essential for dashboards and large data sets.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or FMCG preferred.
• Prior experience in project cost control and post-implementation review.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling capabilities.
• Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
• Comfortable working with large datasets and dashboards.
• ACCA/CPA/CIMA is a great advantage.

Responsibilities

• Budget Monitoring & Cost Control: monitor budgets and ensure spending stays within approvals.
• Analyse and elevate any cost overruns identified.
• Prepare periodic budget utilization and track project performance (ROI).
• Collaborate with project owners and operational teams to troubleshoot overspend and control unnecessary expenditures.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial/budgeting policies and governance standards.
• Project ROI & Financial Analysis: assist with analysis of project feasibility studies and strategic investments.
• Analyze project profitability, payback period, and financial sustainability.
• Develop post-implementation reviews to evaluate project performance versus expected returns.
• Annual Budgeting & Forecasting: support budgeting across departments and business units.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather budget assumptions and operational plans.
• Prepare rolling forecasts and financial projections.
• Assist in scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for business expansion.
• Financial Reporting & Business Support: prepare management reports, dashboards, and insights.
