Job summary

Alphv Recruit in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Assistant Manager / Manager to lead a 5+ engineering team in building stateful agentic AI applications. You will design architecture, select models, implement RAG strategies, and mentor engineers while delivering robust AI-powered customer experiences in live environments.

This role requires 1+ year in AI agentic development and 5+ years in software engineering, with 50% hands-on work and 50% management. Office-based in KL four days a week.

Qualifications

• Min. 1 year of AI agentic software development experience with 5 years of software engineering.
• Capable of managing and mentoring a team of 5 or more engineers.
• Solid understanding of LLM application patterns – RAG, multi-agent orchestration, tool use, and prompt optimization.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and build multi-turn, stateful agentic LLM applications and integrate them with various systems.
• Own the technical architecture of agentic systems, including model selection, RAG strategy, and infrastructure decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5+ engineers – planning, code reviews, performance development, and delivery accountability.
• Author and maintain technical documentation, architecture records, and engineering standards.
• 50% hands-on and 50% management.

Key Responsibilities:

• 50% hands-on and 50% management.
