Edra Power Holdings Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Manager for Group Safety, Health, Environment & Quality to support planning, execution and monitoring of SHEQ programs across the group. The role requires coordinating with the SHEQ Manager and leading a team to uphold safety, health, environment and quality standards across power generation assets.

The SHEQ Assistant Manager reports to the SHEQ Manager, and assists in advising on matters related to Safety and Health, and in implementing and monitoring safety, health, environment, and quality assurance programs. This role is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of safety, security, and operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Management
Overall responsible for assisting SHEQ Manager in the planning, implementation, monitoring, maintaining & review of SHEQ processes and maintaining the plant SHEQ management system performance in absence of SHEQ Manager.
To assist in preparing departmental objectives & KPI’s and ensure its align with organization & & company goal.
To coordinate effective implementation of management program for promoting SHEQ culture at KLPP.
Assist SHEQ Manager in establishment and implementation of SHEQ risk management processes
Provide to SHEQ Manager tracking for effective implementation of:
i. The applicable SHEQ standards and laws applicable to KLPP operations.
ii. SHQ risk control and incident prevention
iii. Safe System of Work
iv. SHEQ training and communication
Security
Overall responsible for the security management in compliance with Chief Government Security Office (CGSO) requirement and instruction with regards to the security of KLPP.
Managing the activities for security personnel, coordinating with government and law enforcement agencies, and organising patrolling of the property and facilities.
Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence.
Perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to the position to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time.
Job Requirements
Minimum Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or Degree in Engineering or Science discipline related to the power generation industry from a recognized university or higher learning institute
Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certification
Marine Facility Security Officer (MFSO) certification
Authorised Entrant and Standby Person for Confined Space (AESP) certification
Minimum 5 years working experience in Safety, Health and Environment (SHEQ) with at least 3 years in Assistant Manager or SHEQ Engineer position
Experience in managing and leading a team of staff
Experience in managing Safety, Health and Environmental Management processes and practices in Power Station or Oil and Gas process plant
Knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members
Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
Note: This is a 3-year fixed term contract role.

Edra is the second largest independent power producer (IPP) in Malaysia, with a total generating capacity of 5,087 MW and effective capacity of 4,568.3 MW from its 5 power plants, which consist of 3 combined cycle gas turbine plants (one with co-generation facilities), one coal-fired sub-critical thermal power plant and one large scale solar photovoltaic plant.
In Egypt, the Group owns and operates one 682.5 MW gas-fired conventional thermal power.
In Bangladesh, the Group owns and operates two CCGT power plants, with a total generating capacity of 810 MW and effective capacity of 445.5 MW.
The Group has an investment in a 157 MW combined cycle gas-fired baseload power station located in Pakistan. Its effective capacity is 36 MW.
Edra is also part of a consortium that owns and operates the Taweelah B IWPP, the largest independent water and power project in the UAE. The Group has a 10.0% effective interest in the Taweelah B IWPP, which has a total power generation and desalination capacity of 2,000 MW and 160 MIGD.
The Group’s revenues are mainly derived from the available capacity and electrical energy produced by its power plants to the off-taker under their respective Power Purchase Agreements ("PPAs").
Tenaga Nasional Berhad is our sole off-taker in Malaysia, while Egyptian Electricity Holding Company and Bangladesh Power Development Board are our sole off-takers in Egypt and Bangladesh respectively. These off-takers are either government or government-linked entities. Our PPAs in Egypt and Bangladesh are guaranteed by the Central Bank of Egypt and Government of Bangladesh respectively, with the substantial majority of payments either denominated in, or indexed to, the USD.
