Job summary

MR DIY International in Malaysia is seeking a corporate finance professional to support structuring of transactions, perform scenario analysis, and prepare evaluation papers for management. You will assist debt fundraising, due diligence, and liaise with banks, lawyers, and advisers while evaluating potential investments and M&A opportunities to align with group strategy.

The role requires strong financial modelling, valuation, stakeholder communication, and the ability to work across functions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as MIA, ACCA, CFA, ICAEW, MBA or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in advisory firms, consulting, investment banks, or corporate finance.
• Strong financial analysis, modelling, and valuation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; detail-oriented with good project management.
• Fluent in Mandarin is preferred (may involve Mandarin-speaking stakeholders).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in structuring of corporate transactions / proposals, including perform scenario analysis, carry out research and prepare evaluation papers for management.


• Assist and manage the implementation of corporate exercises undertaken by the group, including to identify potential issues in the process of gathering and reviewing of information and documents.


• Support the execution of debt fundraising exercises including due diligence exercise, legal documentation review, liaison with external advisers such as bankers, solicitors, rating agencies.


• Conduct financial analysis and evaluations for corporate finance transactions and other strategic corporate initiatives, including joint ventures, and partnerships.


• Support the assessment of potential new investments, including mergers and acquisitions to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives.


• Coordinate and participate in discussions and negotiations with financial institutions, investment banks, legal counsels, advisors, business partners, various external and internal parties across functions (finance, secretarial, tax, legal, operations) and across the regions/countries we operate in.


• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate and execute potential investment and expansion strategies.


• Monitor progress of corporate finance transactions and ensure appropriate actions are executed when and where required.


• Provide corporate finance advisory support to internal stakeholders.


• Prepare reports and presentations for the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.


• Professional certifications such as MIA, ACCA, CFA, ICAEW, MBA or other relevant qualifications are an added advantage.


• Preferably 3-5 years for AM role of relevant experience in professional advisory firms, consulting firms, investment banks. Background in corporate finance, financial advisory, investment banking, M&A, equity/debt fundraising.


• Strong financial analysis, financial modelling, and valuation skills with deep analytical capabilities.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


• High level of ambition and self-motivation, with a strong drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment.


• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


• Detail-oriented, with strong project management and organizational skills.


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools.


• Proficient in both verbal and written Mandarin candidates are preferred (as the role may involve working with Mandarin speaking stakeholders).
