A leading apparel company in Negeri Sembilan is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Business Intelligence & Innovation. This role involves generating insights for strategic direction and managing the business intelligence function. Key responsibilities include conducting market research and synthesizing data into actionable reports. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree, and proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI, demonstrating their analytical acumen and communication skills.
The Assistant Manager, Business Intelligence & Innovation is responsible for generating the insights that fuel the Group's strategic direction and innovation pipeline. This role manages the business intelligence function while actively supporting the development of new ventures and business models through rigorous analysis and research.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and consumer trend analysis.
Synthesize data into actionable intelligence reports, dashboards, and presentations for the GCSIO and senior leadership.
KPI: 100% of monthly/quarterly intelligence reports delivered on schedule and rated "highly valuable" by leadership.
Support the GCSIO in managing the R&D and new ventures pipeline by conducting feasibility studies and initial business case development.
Research and analyze innovative business models and technologies relevant to the Group.
Facilitate ideation workshops and manage the initial stages of the innovation funnel.
Perform M&A target analysis and business performance benchmarking.
KPI: Number of strategic initiatives or decisions directly influenced by provided analysis; Quality/Impact Rating of the provided analysis by project/ operation leader in assisting decision making; Number of vetted and validated new investment/venture ideas added to the innovation pipeline per quarter.
Data-Driven Decision Support
Act as a central source of truth for market and competitive data.
Provide analytical support to the Strategic Projects team for business case validation and performance tracking.
Qualification / Experience / Skills required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business intelligence, strategic analysis, or management consulting.
Proven experience in market research, financial modeling, and data analysis.
Experience with innovation frameworks and ideation processes is highly desirable.
Analytical Acumen: Superior analytical and quantitative skills.
Curiosity & Creativity: Natural curiosity and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Communication: Ability to tell a compelling story with data.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and research methodologies.
