Job summary

Star Media Group Berhad is seeking an Assistant Manager, Business Analytics to own customer relationship building, needs assessment, and requirements management. You will translate complex data into clear narratives to support business decisions.

You will build dashboards and insights using Google Data Studio, Tableau, and GA reports, and collaborate with cross-functional units to optimize reader/subscriber journeys and analytics initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
• Experience in Commercial Data Analytics, Web Analytics, Media, Consulting, Customer Analytics, or Social Media Analytics.
• Highly analytical and proficient in Excel & Google Sheets.
• Hands-on experience with BI/Visualization tools like Google Data Studio.
• Knowledge or experience in Google Analytics, SQL data querying/extraction, Marketing Automation, Google Ad Manager, and Sales Analytics is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Dashboards & Reporting: Collaborate with business units to build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and visualizations using Google Data Studio, Tableau, or custom GA reports.
• Data Storytelling & Insights: Perform ad-hoc audience, readership, ad, and subscription analysis, translating complex metrics into plain language and actionable recommendations.
• Data Science Collaboration: Partner with the data science team to refine use cases, provide data modeling inputs, and perform feasibility studies.
• Audience Journey Optimization: Support reader and subscriber journey improvement across acquisition, retention, and recovery using EDM, web/app pushes, and web messages.
• Project & Vendor Management: Manage end-to-end analytics initiatives, timeline constraints, dependencies, and vendor relations including operations, contracts, and billings.
