Job summary

PTT Synergy Group Berhad, a leader in IoT and AI-driven industrial solutions, seeks an experienced in-house counsel to draft, review, and negotiate commercial and construction contracts, and to support governance and regulatory compliance.

The candidate should have a LLB, Bar admission in Malaysia, at least four years PQE in legal practice or in-house roles, and strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication; must be independent, responsible, and analytical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) and Malaysian Bar admission.
• Minimum 4 years PQE in legal practice or in-house roles.
• Experience in construction law and conveyancing preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on commercial agreements and construction contracts.
• Provide legal support on construction projects including contract administration and disputes.
• Advise management on contractual, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Liaise with external solicitors, authorities, and stakeholders.
• Assist in managing litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution as needed.
• Monitor legal developments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support corporate governance, risk management, and policy development.
• Perform other legal and corporate assignments as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, construction contracts, and legal documentation.
• Provide legal support on construction projects, including contract administration, claims, variations, dispute management, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide legal advice to the Management and internal stakeholders on contractual, corporate, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Liaise with external solicitors, government authorities, financial institutions, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Assist in managing litigation, arbitration, adjudication, and dispute resolution matters when required.
• Monitor legal developments and ensure the Company's compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Support corporate governance, risk management, and internal policy development.
• Perform other legal and corporate assignments as required from the superior.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); professional legal qualification and/or admission to the Malaysian BAR.
• Minimum 4 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in legal practice and/or in-house legal roles.
• Experience in construction law and conveyancing is highly preferred.
• Expertise in legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Possess a strong sense of responsibility, interpersonal skills, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
