Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced in-house attorney to serve as Assistant General Counsel - Ethics & Compliance. This role leads APAC and India ethics initiatives, collaborating with global teams to scale anti-corruption, competition, COI, and investigations programs.

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, global regulatory understanding, and the ability to brief senior management on sensitive issues while guiding cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degree from a reputed institution.
• License to practice law (or in-house equivalent) in relevant jurisdiction(s).
• Proven background in conducting complex, sensitive, high-risk compliance investigations.
• Experience aligning with global cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in technology and semiconductor industries is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a docket of compliance reports and investigations.
• Conduct and oversee objective, thorough investigations across borders and jurisdictions.
• Manage Ethics & Compliance team members located in Asia Pacific and India.
• Manage external counsel investigations as necessary.
• Oversee preparation of investigation reports with findings and recommendations.
• Synthesize information to brief leaders on outcomes, root causes, and remediation plans.
• Work with Internal Audit, HR, and Legal to implement post-investigation actions.
• Prepare quarterly reports to Board of Directors and Audit & Finance Committee.
• Advise on anti-corruption and competition risks in APAC and India.
• Review and advise on conflicts of interest.
• Leverage AI, data, and automation to scale programs.
