Job summary

RGE in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Analyst to join the FP&A team. You will perform month-end closing, reporting, budgeting and forecasting, and act as a business partner to Marketing & Commercial teams to drive profitability and cost control across logistics and related functions.

The role requires strong Excel skills, experience with SQL/Oracle, and 2–4 years in FP&A or financial controlling within FMCG or related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
• Proficient in MS Excel with advanced functions.
• Analytical mindset with capability to interpret data and provide insights.

Responsibilities

• Month End Closing, including reconciliations and COGS reclassification.
• Prepare monthly logistics cost accruals and ensure accuracy of reporting.
• Prepare monthly logistics cost reports with commentary to warehouse and logistics teams.
• Prepare monthly management P&L by allocating expenses to customer and SKU level.
• Prepare monthly profitability analysis by trade channel, customer, SKU and other segments.
• Review monthly Sales and Marketing spend against Budget Plan and Forecast.
• Assist in analyzing monthly profitability variances (sales, trade spend, gross profit, OPEX).
• Identify and improve month-end closing and reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for financial controlling activities related to month-end closing, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering functions, ensuring accurate financial analysis, profitability monitoring, and effective support to business operations.

Month End Closing, Reporting & Performance Analysis

• Perform month-end closing activities including reconciliations, COGS reclassification, and detailed review of COGS GL transactions.


• Prepare monthly logistics cost accruals and ensure completeness and accuracy of reporting.


• Prepare monthly logistics cost reports with commentary to warehouse and logistics teams, highlighting significant deviations against Budget/Forecast.


• Prepare monthly management P&L by allocating expenses to customer and SKU level and reconcile management P&L with Trial Balance and SEA reports.


• Prepare monthly profitability analysis by trade channel, customer, SKU, and other business segments, and respond to queries from stakeholders and SEA team.


• Review monthly Sales and Marketing actual and estimated spending against Budget Plan and Forecast.


• Assist Manager in analyzing monthly profitability variances including sales, trade spend, gross profit, and operating expenses.


• Identify and continuously improve month-end closing and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist the FP&A Manager in setting up, managing, and maintaining budgeting templates and budget preparation activities.


• Perform budget roll-down and upload approved commercial budgets into SQL systems.


• Consolidation of the SEA budget for submission to the Group Reporting


• Prepare and monitor logistics cost budgeting and forecasting.

Business Partnering with Marketing & Commercial Team

• Finance Analysis – Support the calculation of feasibility study on Commercial initiatives; includes Marketing and Sales promotion activities, Pricing Review, New products/Product Upgrade, transportation model (effects on logistic cost) and etc.


• Financial Measurement – Support with commercial team on post-event evaluation. Identify and continually seek improvements in business processes to maximize promotion efficiency and increase profitability.

Others

• Conduct periodic financial education and sharing sessions with Marketing and Commercial teams.


• Manage staff purchase pricing setup and support staff purchase committee/process administration.


• Provide business support for commercial projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

To be successful in this role, it is recommended that you should have the following skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.


• Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant working experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance, Financial Controlling, or Management Reporting.


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with Oracle/SQL systems.


• Experience in FMCG or commercial finance environment will be an added advantage.
