Job summary

KPJ Healthcare Berhad is seeking a diligent Stewarding/Cleaner to maintain cleanliness in kitchen and related areas in our Malaysia facilities. You will perform routine cleaning, manage waste disposal, and ensure sanitary standards across dishwashing, storage, and prep areas.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment safely, stocking stewarding supplies, and coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely cleaning completion.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: SPM or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Wash, sanitize, and store crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cookware as per standard procedures.
• Clean and maintain dishwashers, grease traps, refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors, corridors, and storage areas as scheduled.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, sinks, and storage racks after meal service.
• Participate in routine deep-cleaning schedules for kitchen and dishwashing areas.
• Remove garbage, sanitize containers, and maintain cleanliness of waste disposal areas.
• Perform daily cleaning routines during opening and closing duties.
• Operate cleaning agents, equipment, and PPE safely.
• Receive, organize, and store stewarding supplies such as detergents, cleaning tools, and PPE.
• Report faulty equipment, damaged tools, or unsafe conditions to the Senior Steward / Head Chef.
• Deliver and collect food trolleys in coordination with Food Services Assistants.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization of kitchen areas, ensuring compliance with HALAL, food safety and hygiene standards.
• Liaise with kitchen and food service staff to coordinate timely completion of cleaning and stewarding activities.
