The incumbent is primarily responsible for leading and supporting the development of products that support the Company’s product delivery strategy.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Define and execute product strategy aligned with the company’s growth ambitions, customer segmentation, and market positioning.
• Identify market gaps, emerging customer needs, and industry trends to inform product innovation and enhancement.
• Lead end-to-end product development from concept ideation through design, pricing, approval, launch, and post-launch optimization as per the Product Development Process defined by Product Steering Committee (PSC) and in accordance with the schedules set in product calendar.
• Work closely with actuarial, underwriting, operations, IT, marketing, distribution, and legal teams to deliver high-quality product initiatives that support company’s business objectives.
• Provide clear product positioning, selling concepts, and training support to enable high-quality advice and customer engagement.
• Own ongoing product lifecycle management including enhancements, repricing, simplification, and rationalisation.
• Analyse product performance metrics (sales, profitability, persistency, claims experience, customer feedback).
• Proactively recommend actions to improve product sustainability, competitiveness, and customer value over time.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of product executives, fostering strong product mindset, accountability, and collaboration.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Actuarial Science, Economics or related disciplines.
• Minimum 10-12 years working experience in the insurance industry, preferably in the function of product development or product marketing.
• Well versed in insurance product.
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
