Job summary

C. M. Soo Associates in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Audit Associate to assist in statutory audits for diverse industries, prepare working papers, verify records, and liaise with clients to gather documentation.

The role leads audit engagements from planning to completion, supports managers and partners on special assignments, and requires basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles. Training is provided for fresh graduates to develop professional skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
• Knowledge of MPERS/MFRS and Malaysian auditing standards.
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint).
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing statutory audit assignments for companies from various industries.
• Prepare audit working papers and supporting schedules and review audited financial statements.
• Verify financial records, documents, and accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing audited financial statements and related reports.
• Perform other audit-related duties assigned by supervisors.
• Lead audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Review audit working papers prepared by juniors.
• Liaised with clients to obtain the required audit documentation and maintained professional communication regarding audit-related matters.
• Ensure audit assignments are completed on time and comply with auditing standards.
• Assist managers and partners with special assignments when required.

Education

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Fresh graduates encouraged

Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing principles

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Responsible, willing to learn, able to work independently and in a team

Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Knowledge of MPERS/MFRS and Malaysian auditing standards
