Job summary

L. MA & Co is seeking an assistant to support statutory audits across diverse industries in Taiping, Malaysia. You will help plan and perform audits, review accounting systems and controls, and prepare working papers and schedules with accuracy.

The role involves identifying issues, communicating findings to seniors, and assisting in drafting reports while meeting deadlines. Fresh graduates are welcome; structured training and development support is provided, including ACCA/CPA pathways.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Accounting/Finance or pursuing ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent professional qualification.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team under tight deadlines.
• Good command of English, Malay, and Mandarin-speaking candidates who will be serving Mandarin-speaking customers.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and performing statutory audits for clients in various industries.
• Review clients’ accounting systems, internal controls, and financial statements.
• Prepare working papers, schedules, and audit documentation.
• Identify accounting, auditing, and tax issues and propose solutions.
• Communicate audit findings and recommendations to seniors or managers.
• Assist in drafting audit reports and management letters.
• Ensure all assignments meet professional standards and deadlines.
• Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.
