Randstad Malaysia is representing an established international manufacturer seeking skilled assemblers to join their Johor-based production team. The role covers mechanical and electrical assembly, precision alignment, and commissioning within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will read drawings, install components, test systems, and ensure QA/QC standards while maintaining 5S/6S workplace practices.
We are representing an established international manufacturer specializing in precision machine tools and advanced industrial automation. Due to facility expansion, they are seeking skilled, detail-oriented Assemblers to join their technical production team in, Johor.
1. Mechanical Assembly & Precision Alignment
Accurately assemble machine tool mechanical components (bed, column, spindle box, worktable, feed systems, tool magazines, tool changers, and protective covers) following engineering drawings and work instructions.
Mount, preload, and fine-tune critical motion components including bearings, precision lead screws, linear guideways, gears, and pulleys to achieve exact motion tolerances.
Connect, route, and test hydraulic, pneumatic, and central lubrication piping systems.
Skillfully operate hand, pneumatic, and power tools; calibrate and inspect assembly fit using precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial test indicators, precision spirit levels, and laser measurement equipment).
2. Electrical & Control Assembly
Mount electrical components (circuit breakers, contactors, relays, transformers, and terminal blocks) inside distribution boxes, control consoles, and enclosures.
Execute point-to-point wiring for main power and low-voltage control circuits (crimping, harness wrapping, wire labeling, and conduit installation) per schematic drawings.
Build wire harnesses (cutting, stripping, terminal crimping, and heat-shrinking).
Conduct continuity, ground-fault, and short-circuit testing using digital multimeters before power-up.
3. Commissioning, Quality & Site Standards
Perform geometric alignment inspections (straightness, parallelism, squareness, and flatness) and motion accuracy checks (positioning accuracy, repeatability).
Conduct dry-run/idle-run testing on fully assembled machines to evaluate vibration, heat rise, and noise levels.
Carry out strict self-inspection, document assembly quality checklists, and coordinate with QA/QC engineers for stage gates and final sign-off.
Maintain equipment, tooling, and work bays in compliance with 5S/6S and industrial safety protocols.
Assist in ad-hoc production duties or field installation/service support across regional client sites as required.
Prior hands-on experience in machine tool building, CNC machinery assembly, industrial automation, or heavy mechanical/electrical equipment assembly.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical assembly blueprints, pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams.
Proficient with mechanical shop tools, precision measurement devices (dial indicators, micrometers), and electrical testing equipment (multimeters).
Willing and able to commit to a mandatory 5.5-day work week.
High attention to detail, strong safety awareness, and a problem-solving mindset.
