Job summary

Ingersoll Rand Compressor Systems & Services seeks a Tender Engineer to manage the preparation of engineered proposals and RFQ responses for power generation projects across South East Asia. You will support Business Development Managers with engineering input, select equipment and prepare costing and documentation to meet project deadlines.

The role involves developing supplier networks, coordinating with Sales, and contributing to project design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Tender analysis, preparation and support including feasibility assessment, interpretation of specifications, and post-award technical submissions.
• Develop and maintain supplier networks (local & international) for competitive pricing and supplier options.
• Manage supply chain to provide minimum three offers for PMU review; communicate deadlines to Sales.
• Formulate and optimise project costing sheets and formal offers using OEM equipment specifications.
• Assist with project design, supplier engagements and post-submission Q&As.
• Support projects with engineering input and document control with KL-based Engineering Services.

• Interface with global Project Managers, Product Managers, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Suppliers & Customers

Nature and Scope

This role is primarily responsible for preparation of engineering tender responses, provision of technical services and applications support to Business Development Managers within South East Asia, for customised products within Ingersoll Rand product portfolio.

The sole purpose for this role is to support power generation tenders, in addition to assisting the project team w.r.t engineering, minor project management task & inspection related activities as directed.

Tender analysis, preparation and support

• Where required, review tenders and other forms of RFQ and :
• Conduct Initial feasibility assessment of opportunity.
• Interpret technical project specifications; pre-award, followed with technical submissions post award, as an assistance to the execution team, listing any concerns related to scope etc.
• Develop & maintain a supplier network, local & international to assist with competitive pricing, with the option to travel as & when required.
• Supply chain management, to develop sufficient supplier options etc i.e. min 3 offers to assist with PMU review.
• Communicate with Sales when tender or RFQ submission dates cannot be met.
• Advise of any technical and commercial exceptions to specifications protect CAPS
• Formulate/optimise project costing sheets (PMU) & formal offers for review utilising OEM equipment; specifications, to meet project deadlines.
• Select appropriate equipment and customisations to meet the specifications and site conditions.
• Support sales with technical assistance in post submission TQs, meetings and presentations.
• Assist with project design, consultant/project correspondence to meet the project specifications

Support Activities for Projects – Power Generation, Coolers & others products required for Datacentre Industry

Where required, this role will provide support activities to the power generation project management team.

• Assist in engineering design for technical aspects of customisations and modifications to Product within my qualifications and level of experience, including:
  • Component and Equipment selection
  • Conducting competent electrical and/or mechanical design (where applicable)
  • Provision of technical documentation and drawings
  • Provision of quality plans, ITPs, test & commissioning procedures, project schedule and other miscellaneous documentation
• Work with Engineering Services in KL for cost efficient documentation generation and document control
• Communicate with OEMs to monitor delivery and configuration of equipment to ensure they meet the specification and customer’s requirement.

Product Validation

To inspect, evaluate and test as necessary the engineering project related equipment, materials and works completed by OEM manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors and manufacturing / service departments to ensure it meets the project specified output performance, quality requirements and applicable Australian standards.
