Job summary

A premier global industrial technology company seeks an Application Engineer to drive end-to-end technical execution for power generation and data center infrastructure projects in Southeast Asia. You will review RFQs, map technical compliance, and optimize costs while coordinating with OEMs and execution teams.

Responsibilities include selecting suitable equipment, preparing technical submissions, and supporting ITPs/FAT/SAT activities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering.
2–5 years of engineering experience in application engineering, proposal estimation, or project engineering within power generation, industrial cooling, diesel/gas generator sets, or data center infrastructure.
Solid understanding of power generation systems, thermal management, auxiliary equipment, and electrical/mechanical schematic interpretation.
Strong costing and analytical skills: cost estimation modeling, BOM creation, and Excel analytics.
Proven ability to liaise with and qualify third-party OEM suppliers and specialized engineering vendors.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems, ITPs, and FAT protocols.
Excellent written and verbal English communications; willingness to travel for vendor inspections and client presentations.

Responsibilities

Feasibility & Specification Review: Assess RFQs and complex tender documents for data center, energy, and industrial clients.
Technical Compliance & Exception Mapping: Interpret specifications, draft pre-award submissions, identify scope exceptions.
Cost Optimization (PMU Sheets): Build detailed project costing models and pricing sheets using OEM specs.
Supplier Network Development: Develop a network of local and international suppliers; secure competitive offers.
OEM Coordination: Interface with global manufacturers to monitor production schedules and delivery lead times.
Technical System Selection: Size, select, and specify mechanical/electrical equipment for site conditions.
Execution Support: Collaborate with Engineering Services for documentation, SLDs, schematics, and ITPs.
Design Verification: Conduct electrical and mechanical verification for modifications.
Product Testing, Quality & ISO Compliance: Inspect and test equipment to meet quality standards and codes.
