Job summary

Strato Solutions Sdn Bhd seeks an API/Data Integration Lead to design, implement, and manage end-to-end data integration across systems, databases, and external sources. You will ensure secure, scalable data exchange via APIs, ETL pipelines, and integrated services.

You will lead architecture, governance, and delivery, mentoring engineers and coordinating with stakeholders to meet analytics and reporting requirements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant experience leading API, integration, or data engineering activities.
• Strong experience in REST APIs, API gateways, ETL/ELT, middleware, microservices, databases, data pipelines, and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall API and data integration architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, and system-to-system integrations.
• Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, consolidation, and distribution.

Job description

The API / Data Integration Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and management of end-to-end data integration solutions across multiple systems, applications, databases, and external data sources. The role ensures reliable, secure, scalable, and efficient data exchange through APIs, integration services, and automated data pipelines to support the project's operational, analytics, and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

Lead the overall API and data integration architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.

Design and implement RESTful APIs, web services, microservices, and system-to-system integrations.

Develop and manage ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, consolidation, and distribution.

Integrate data from multiple government agencies, external systems, databases, applications, and third-party platforms.

Establish appropriate API gateway, authentication, authorization, encryption, rate limiting, logging, and monitoring mechanisms.

Lead data mapping, transformation, validation, cleansing, standardisation, de-duplication, and reconciliation activities.

Ensure data integration supports structured, semi-structured, real-time, near-real-time, and batch data processing requirements.

Define and enforce API standards, integration standards, data exchange specifications, naming conventions, and technical documentation.

Monitor integration performance, data quality, availability, errors, and data processing issues and coordinate timely resolution.

Provide technical leadership, guidance, code reviews, and mentoring to API/Data Integration developers and engineers.

About you

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related discipline.

7+ years of relevant experience, including experience leading API, integration, or data engineering activities.

Strong experience in REST APIs, API gateways, ETL/ELT, middleware, microservices, databases, data pipelines, and system integration.

Experience integrating heterogeneous data sources and enterprise/government systems.

Good understanding of data governance, data quality, information security, API security, CI/CD, containerisation, and integration monitoring.

Strong technical leadership, stakeholder management, documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
