Qualifications

• 6–9 years of experience in Java development or API/microservices development.
• Strong hands‑on experience in Java Spring Boot (mandatory).
• Experience with API Gateway / API Management platforms (Axway, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7) or Java Spring Boot microservices (mandatory one of the two).
• Strong experience in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with Oracle Database (12c/19c) and/or Cassandra DB.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior API & Microservices Developer to design, develop, and enhance API-driven and microservices-based solutions within WAM and OPI platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance services using Java Spring Boot and API management technologies. Candidates may be aligned to either API Gateway (WAM) or Java Microservices (OPI) streams depending on expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot
• Develop and support API management solutions using Axway API Manager, API Gateway, or equivalent platforms (Apigee, Kong, Layer 7)
• Build scalable backend services for enterprise banking applications (WAM/OPI)
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Ensure API security, performance, and reliability across environments
• Work on integration with Oracle 12c/19c databases and/or Cassandra DB
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical solutioning
• Support deployment activities in Unix/Linux environments
• Follow SDLC, coding standards, and DevOps best practices

Required Skills:

• 6–9 years of experience in Java development or API/microservices development
• Strong hands‑on experience in Java Spring Boot (mandatory)
• Proven experience in either:
• o API Gateway / API Management platforms (Axway, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7), OR
• o Java Spring Boot microservices development (mandatory one of the two)
• Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• Experience with Oracle Database (12c/19c) and/or Cassandra DB
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and production support activities
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of API security (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, MFA integration)
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus)
• Understanding of banking domain applications (WAM/OPI systems)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell scripting)
