Job summary

Soft Space in Malaysia is seeking a technically strong leader to head our ANZ region. The Lead Engineer will own regional delivery, technical solutioning, and team leadership, ensuring that all projects meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards.

You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate with global teams to align technical work with business goals, risk management and delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven design experience for distributed backend platforms and API ecosystems.
• Strong hands-on coding with Java/Spring Boot, databases and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, MPoC, SPoC, OWASP security standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design decisions for regional implementations.
• Serve as technical escalation point for ANZ region.
• Mentor engineers and drive delivery excellence.
• Ensure projects meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards.
• Coordinate with global teams on security, deployment, and timelines.
• Improve processes for design, deployment, and support.
