Private Advertiser is seeking an Analyst to monitor online conversations and produce timely reports. You will transform listening data into written analysis, outlining narrative trends, sentiment drivers, and actionable insights for strategic communications.
The role requires proficiency in BM and English and comfort with Excel/Sheets for data tasks. The position is on site in Kuala Lumpur, with shifts including weekends and compensation for long hours as needed.
The Analyst runs social listening, analysis and reporting. You track what is being said online, turn it into analysis that shapes strategic communications, and flag anything that needs attention. Reporting runs to fixed times across the week, so the desk is covered on a shift rota.
Monitor online conversation in local languages using a listening platform
Produce daily, weekly and monthly reports to fixed deadlines
Turn listening data into written analysis: narrative trends, sentiment drivers and what is behind a shift
Recommend strategic communications responses, and track whether they worked
Verify and document signals before escalating
Track reach, sentiment and engagement over time
Maintain and refine search queries
Keep records complete and retrievable
Support KPI reporting
Degree in communications, data analytics, statistics, political science, economics or similar
1 to 3 years in social listening, media monitoring, research or analytics. Strong graduates with relevant internship experience considered
Grounding in strategic communications, or a clear interest in it
Proficient in BM and English
Comfortable working with data in Excel or Sheets: pivot tables, lookups and charting
Able to write clearly and argue a point in writing
Able to work shifts including weekends, on a published rota
Able to take on ad hoc tasks and work long hours when required, with compensation
On site in Kuala Lumpur, with no remote or hybrid option
