Job summary

Emerson is seeking an electronics design engineer in Penang to drive analog/mixed-signal hardware improvements and robust documentation. You will research parts, simulate and verify designs, and provide technical training to support teams and customers.

You will lead redesign efforts, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate across engineering to ensure product quality and manufacturability. Strong communication and initiative are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in analog and mixed-signal design.
• Experience with block diagrams, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to communicate clearly on technical topics.

Responsibilities

• Research and propose alternatives to avoid EOL parts and minimize hardware changes.
• Implement and simulate designs through CAD and synthesis tools (Mentor Graphics).
• Verify and validate hardware redesigns; debug issues.
• Apply failure analysis to root cause failures during VnV and MFG builds.
• Incorporate DFM inputs from MFG to improve yield and quality.
• Diagnose and debug product interactions with other NI products.
• Create POC mock-ups to strengthen redesign proposals for domain leaders.
• RCA know-how; prepare fishbone diagrams to identify root causes.
• Provide technical training and document failures/progress; share with stakeholders.
• Create debug guides/tools and train MFG techs and Failure Analysis engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge on EE technologies and circuit design.
• Lead the team to develop product and design documentation.
• Create debug tools and training materials for MFG release.
