Job summary

Apex Logistics International is seeking an air freight planner to plan, coordinate, and optimize air cargo movements—ensuring efficient capacity utilization and on-time execution to meet customer requirements.

You will source rates, prepare quotations, monitor schedules, and coordinate with airlines, partners, and internal teams to maintain smooth shipment flow and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of air freight operations, cargo handling, and shipment planning.
• Experience in charter flight planning and coordination is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for planning and reporting.
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong planning and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage air freight shipments for optimal routing and capacity.
• Source and analyze freight rates from airlines, vendors, and overseas offices.
• Prepare transportation costings and quotations for Sales based on customer needs.
• Monitor airline capacity, flight schedules, and market conditions for planning.
• Coordinate cargo space allocations and booking with airlines and partners.
• Develop shipment plans and contingency solutions to reduce delays and bottlenecks.
• Lead charter flight planning activities, including capacity assessment and routing.
• Evaluate charter opportunities and prepare operational plans and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Ground Handling teams.
• Track shipment performance and resolve issues related to capacity and scheduling.
• Maintain communication with airlines, charter operators, and partners to secure capacity.
• Analyze shipment volumes and trends to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain accurate shipment planning data and update systems for visibility.
• Prepare operational reports, capacity forecasts, and charter utilization analyses.

Job Summary

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing air cargo movements, including scheduled and charter operations. The role ensures efficient capacity utilization, operational readiness, and on-time execution to meet customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and manage air freight shipments to ensure optimal routing, capacity utilization, and service performance.
• Source and analyze freight rates from airlines, vendors, overseas offices, and agent partners to support pricing and business opportunities.
• Prepare transportation costings and quotations for the Sales team based on customer requirements and operational feasibility.
• Monitor airline capacity, flight schedules, transit times, and market conditions to support effective shipment planning.
• Coordinate cargo space allocations and booking arrangements with airlines and strategic partners.
• Develop shipment plans and contingency solutions to minimize delays, service disruptions, and operational bottlenecks.
• Lead charter flight planning activities, including capacity assessment, aircraft selection, routing analysis, scheduling, and operational coordination.
• Evaluate charter opportunities and prepare operational plans, cost estimates, and resource requirements to support customer and business needs.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Customer Service, Warehouse, and Ground Handling teams to ensure seamless shipment execution.
• Track shipment performance and proactively resolve issues related to capacity, flight changes, scheduling, and cargo movement.
• Maintain regular communication with airlines, charter operators, overseas partners, and service providers to secure capacity and enhance service levels.
• Analyze shipment volumes, load factors, and operational trends to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Maintain accurate shipment planning data and update operational systems to ensure data integrity and visibility.
• Prepare operational reports, capacity forecasts, performance analysis, and charter utilization reports for management review.
• Support peak season planning, project cargo movements, emergency shipments, and special charter operations.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.

Experience & Qualifications

• Knowledge of air freight operations, cargo handling, and shipment planning processes.
• Experience in charter flight planning and coordination is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for planning and reporting.
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
